Organic. What does this mean?
Organic Certification: Organic certification is a certification process for producers of organic food and other organic agricultural products. In general, anybusiness directly involved in food production can be certified, including seedsuppliers, farmers, food processors, retailers and restaurants.(1)
Organic Agriculture: is a model of agriculture which its objective is to grow food without industrial agrochemicals neither genetic engineered seeds or livestock. This kind of agriculture protects biodiversity, ecosystems and waterbeds.
The USDA National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) definition as of April 1995 is:
Organic agriculture is an ecological production management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity. It is based on minimal use of off-farm inputs and on management practices that restore, maintain and enhance ecological harmony. (2)
